This goes a long way to saving money for the developer as compared to using manual labour. In areas where the plot size is small, there is no sewer, and the developer needs to construct apartments, eg Rongai, Ngong, Ruai,Kitengela, Athi river, Kikuyu and Ruiru, excavators come in handy to dig in through the rock.
