I recently saw your article in the Star on joint Ventures in land development.
I own a99 year leasehold (as from April 2009) in a commercial plot in the Kiambu Town CBD. My intention is to replace the existing old one storey stone building with a modern 5 storey commercial building .
The plot measures 0.0232
I am interested in a joint venture development of the type described in your article and would like to hear further on the approach and terms of such an arrangement. I have the following two questions
(1) You mentioned that for Shelter Afrique financed arrangements a preliminary survey is a prerequisite. Who pays for the study?
(2) Given the relatively small size of the plot is such a joint feature feasible?

Hi Kamau, thanks for your inquiry.
1.Initial feasibility study is paid by applicant. We can enter into an agreement with the applicant to offer the service on condition that once funds are available, we get compensated as agreed.
2.Shelter Afrique recently adjusted their minimum requirement upward to 1000 units. Your plot is small. This can only be handled by individual Joint Venture partners are rare and hard to come by. Once i hear of someone wanting to invest in your plot, i will let you know.
