Tree house resort in Kenya

Tree house resort

The need to conserve our environment through architecture increases day by day. With the current corona virus pandemic happening around us, we need to think of how we can live harmoniously with nature to ensure sustainability.

Tree house designs are a good way to ensure that human life can continue harmoniously without the need to chop off trees, hence maintaining the much needed biodiversity and sustainability.

Use of innovative architectural designs that easily incorporate into the forest enables human habitation inclusive of environmental sustainability. This hotel below in Canada designed by architect Tom Chudleigh uses spherical suspended accommodation rooms inside the trees.

This resort in Thailand designed by architect Pisit Aongskultong and team has double storey residential units that look like they are growing from the tree branches.

This architectural design enables an accommodation unit to have 2 or more rooms for the family type guests who would require 2 different rooms, one for parents and the other for kids but within the same unit.

Weaver birds.

This treehouse below, designed by Jerry Tate Architects, is a good impression of how weaver birds and their nests can inspire us humans on how to live harmoniously side by side and within forests.

The wide bottom support structure enables a large group of people to occupy the supported nest space without any risk of structural failure.

Walkways.

For large spans between trees, poles joined together with ropes and steel chains offer a very interesting walkway support structure that will drive exitement for people using this to cross from one point to the other.

For the more Adrenalin engaging walks, fewer poles with chains attached can be connected to create walkways as below.

These can be placed close to the ground level to minimise the risk of injuries in case someone slips and falls.

For higher levels, stiffer walkways made of steel support and timber joists are much better. The height level raises the Adrenalin while keeping the users safe from chances of falls.

Bars and restaurant seating areas can be done in areas where there are large trees closer to each other.
